About This Appeal

On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, killing thousands. The powerful earthquake caused major damage to the Caribbean nation already struggling with political violence and poverty that affects 85 per cent of the population. With an estimated 50,000 dead and millions in need of emergency assistance, the country is in urgent need of international support.

Please make a donation today to help the children and families of Haiti.

ChildFund International's vice president in the Americas Region Dula James who has experience working in Haiti says the lack of government resources and infrastructure has slowed the delivery of aid to Haiti after the earthquake, causing frustration. Children especially will face complex challenges following this tragedy.

“We know that even before this disaster children in Haiti were deprived of basic necessities, education and safety.”

Communications are extremely difficult and accurate information is still scarce, it is clear that the consequences are severe and many children are among the victims. ChildFund is joining forces with a partner on the ground in Haiti but we urgently need donations to help the Haitian earthquake victims.

Please make a donation and help the Haiti earthquake victims.

Our hearts go out to the families whose lives have been so terribly impacted by this tragedy.

Thank you for your support of this tragedy.
