There aren’t many opportunities for young people to earn an income in Timor-Leste. Youth aged 15–19 are almost three times more likely to be unemployed than the general population in Timor-Leste, and youth aged 20–24 are twice as likely to be unemployed. Childfund has been training young people in technical, business and life skills. A special project, assisted by the New Zealand Aid Programme, is currently supporting 960 youth to earn an income.
