New quake hits Nepal
12 May 2015An earthquake measuring 7.3 hit western Nepal at 12.35pm local time on Tuesday. Our team in Nepal reported that it went on for about 25 seconds followed by an aftershock of 6.3.
In Kathmandhu, ChildFund was holding a meeting with 11 members of local partners from Sindhupalchowk when the quake happened. Understandably they were extremely upset and desperate to reach their families back in Sindhupalchowk.
The new quake has killed dozens, triggered landslides and collapsed houses in the already devastated region.
