Protecting children

How is ChildFund helping to end violence around the world?

We exist to protect children and to enable an environment where they can thrive.

Our work supports several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a specific challenge is directly linked to SDG target 16.2.

What are the SDGs?: The SDGs are a series of goals 193 countries have agreed to try and meet by 2030. There are 17 goals which aim to transform the world by ending poverty, fighting inequalities and tackling climate change while ensuring no one is left behind.
SDG 16.2: To end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children by 2030.

Our Child-Friendly Accountability model is improving child protection systems at the local, regional and national levels - ensuring children and youth are able to monitor and improve local protection systems by building their knowledge, supporting them in identifying protection gaps and facilitating direct action in their communities to close the gaps.

We are not alone in this work. We frequently collaborate with other agencies, drawing on each other’s strengths to deliver coordinated programmes, as well as through advocacy campaigns, as we know that together, we can be more effective and efficient. Joining Forces is a collective campaign where ChildFund works with other child-focused organisations in an ambitious undertaking to end violence against children in every country, every community and every family.

Together, we are working to keep children safe. Your generous support is helping us to drive important changes which will, in turn, have long-lasting impact for children, youth and families around the world.
